Jim Davis is currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to this role, Jim served as the Vice President for Legal Affairs at the Texas Attorney General's office. Jim also has experience as a Partner and Head of Regulatory and Administrative Litigation at Locke Lord LLP. Jim began their career as a Briefing Attorney for Justice Alberto Gonzales at the Supreme Court of Texas after serving as a Cryptographer in the US Navy. Jim holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in History from The University of Texas at Austin.
