Tom Vanek is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in energy policy and research. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Fusion Energy Sciences at the U.S. Department of Energy since 2002, Tom is actively involved in the international ITER project, advancing fusion energy research. Prior to this role, Tom was a Professional Staff Member for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, managing oversight and budget responsibilities for energy-related Research and Development programs. Tom’s earlier experience includes working as a Systems Analyst at AEPCO Inc., where responsibilities included marketing and technical material development for video teleconferencing solutions. Tom holds an MA in International Relations from Georgetown University and a BA in Public Affairs from The George Washington University.
